Physical Education.
The couple are at home in
Everett.

Calif. couple gets VIP treatment
When AI and Jean
Manochuck of Temple City,
California were pulled over
by the State Highway Patrol
just outside Marysville last
weekend they didn't know
they were going to be
honored guests of the
Marysville Jaycees for two
days.
The Manochucks, who were
from a trip to
Vancouver, B.C. were
puzzled and then pleased
when it developed that in-
stead of a traffic citation

"graduate"
Cascade Elementary School
held a "miniature
graduation" for kin-
dergarten youngsters who
moved up to first grade, in
special ceremonies June 7.
Principal Chuck Thacker
gave the commencement
address, congratulating the
students of Miss Gail Grif-
fith, kindergarten teacher.
Youngsters wore starched
white shirts, and looked
proud in their own hand
made mortar board caps,
which they made from
cardboard and black paper.
The 34 youngsters marched
in and out of the gymnasium
to Pomp and Circumstance,
while proud parents took
pictures and smiled ap-
provingly.
A BOY was born to Mr. and
Mrs. Gregory Lundgren of
Marysville June 24,1973.
they were to receive two
days free in a Marysville
motel and be treaed to the
hospitality of the city during
the Strawberry Festival.
The couple viewed the
festival parade from the
reviewing stand and were
escorted around town by
Start and Shelley Slanders
before being treated to a
steak dinner at the home of
Ed and Verdell Kolling.
Steaks for the out of town
visitors were provided by
Thompson's Meats.
Before their departure
Sunday the Manochucks
were also treated to break-
fast by the Jaycees. They left
for California with happy
memories of Marysville.

didates Night last October.
The other award was for
Public Relations due to their
Memorial Day Rest Stops

Ray Schneider
re-elected to
Grange post
Ray. Schneider of 4205
Mission Road Marysville,
has been re-elected Gate
Keeper of the Washington
State Grange. His re-election
came at the 84th annual
Washington State Grange
Convention held in Wenat-
chee from June 11 to 15.
Schneider, who was first
elected to the state office in
1971, is a member of Fidelity
Grange where he is on the
Executive Committee. He is
also master of the
Snohomish County Pomona
Grange and served as
